Day-02 - polygenic scoring

Right, at this stage it would be nice to apply some of the methods I've come across in my work to my own data. One such method is "polygenic scoring". This can be applied to any disease but what I can do here is to use a schizophrenia dataset to "score" my own data. What is my loading? I have access to polygenic scores from ethnically closely-matched dataset of case and control individuals so I will kick off this analysis shortly. Keep you posted.

A few points about polygenic scoring:

- explains a significant proportion of the variance in schizophrenia, but that proportion is still relatively low.

- speaks to the polygenic basis of e.g. schizophrenia. However, there might be non-polygenic bases also.
